Amalia was born and raised in Boston, MA which is where she creates her encaustic art in an atelier situated in a historic mill building just outside of the city.  A true New Englander with European roots and traditions, her perspective is enriched by the marriage of both worlds.  In her works, she strives to convey the themes of beauty and mystery that surround us in our everyday lives.  The ancient art form of encaustic painting applied to the surface of her photographs allows her to bring new meaning and depth to her images.
